First formed in 1998, the Midnite Express Singers have gained respect as one of the top drum groups in North America. Hailing from the Twin Cities of Minnesota, the group consists of members from various tribes including: Ojibway, Sioux, and Menominee. The unique sound and rhythm of the Midnite Express Singers makes them one of the recognizable drums on the powwow circuit today having served as invited and host drum at many powwows throughout Indian Country. In addition, the drum has won many singing championships most notably, back-to-back championships at the 2008, 2009 & 2010 Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, NM. Midnite Express was also the recipient of the 2009 Native American Music Award for Best Powwow Recording from their album Band of Brothers. Through it all, the group remains humble and remembers the teachings of their elders by following the traditional ways and give thanks for all the support and encouragement they have received over the years. ~ Aho Migwitch ~ Midnite Express ~
